Welcome to MDR Direct Retailing and our introduction to our new Manager, Robert Drayson.  Robert joins our company on 1st April 2009.

Robert has a huge depth of experience within the model railway hobby having started his own model layouts and model collection in the days of Mat Aschough and John Hills of the former company  M & R Models some 35 years ago.  Robert is one of the original Fleischmann Model Railway Club Members and a member of the Marklin Insider Club.  He has modelled and continues to model in both Fleischmann, Trix and Marklin from analogue operation right up to and into the present day using Digital equipment.

Roberts brings to our company a total of 35 years wealth of European Modelling knowledge, model railway construction and digital operation experience.

Robert, shown above, is holding one of the 2008 Limited Editions from Fleischmann. Robert said "I will be very pleased to see previous and new customers at our UK retail store with the view to discuss their model railway needs".  He plans to continue the growth of Digital Model Railways with more products becoming available from various suppliers in the Market place.

Robert also has a good general knowledge of British outline modelling which he believes will assist in  increasing the sales of both 00 and N scale models. As more British modelling becomes more digitally operated and run Robert is well placed to explain and guide new modellers and existing modellers into and around the intriguing world of Digital Operation DCC. 

Robert will introduce some change of opening days which will include extended shopping hours. 

Both I & M Keay welcome Robert to the company and believe his input will ensure that the UK retail branch will continue to offer a strong broad range of Models and Hobbies and reasonable prices whilst also remaining a good strong opposition for its UK trading competitors.  Robert has already been meeting with some customers who have welcomed the good news that their favourite model shop's future is sound and secure.
